Panzer

Breed: Standard Schnauzer
Age: 2 Years

Rehomed

Bio:Panzer is a 2yo standard schnauzer who is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. He is a happy go lucky young man who is friendly with all people that he meets. He has not grown up around children but has been friendly with those that he has met. Panzer is dog friendly and cat friendly. He can come across as a bit pushy with some dogs as he tries to make them all like him and play with him but has never shown any aggression. He is very curious but careful with the cats and would be suitable to live with cats. He is untested with livestock and pocket pets. Panzer has had a few cheeky behaviours that we have been working on: barging in the door uninvited if it is open and scratching/banging on the door if it is closed. These have improved considerably but are still a work in progress. He will bark from time to time for attention – from his humans or his playmate – but this is not an “all the time” thing and would not be considered a problem. The first three nights in foster care he experimented with barking for attention at bedtime but quickly ceased this behavior once he understood it to be unacceptable. He is also quite a sook – sooking for attention, food, coming inside, whatever he might desire. This is also still a work in progress. Panzer had never lived with another animal before coming into foster care so he has had to learn the rules around stealing food from his housemates. The first couple of days he barreled the cats and the smaller dog out of the way to steal their food, but now understands this is not ok and holds his distance respectfully. He shows no aggression around food, toys or bedding. Panzer has a special medical need that a potential adopter will need to be aware of and prepared to take on. He is epileptic. We have worked with the vets to get his seizures under control and his current medication is working well towards this end. However it is likely that he would need to take this medication for life. He is otherwise completely healthy. If you would like to enquire about Panzer please send an email to caninelifeline@hotmail.com

The adoption fee covers vaccinations, desexing, micro chipping and flea and worm treatments whilst the dog is in our care.
